Do you enjoy working with people in a fast-paced environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a Performance and Development Manager to join our People and Performance Team at Heathrow Airport. Reporting to the People and Performance Manager, you will work alongside four other Performance and Development Managers in the team. 

You’ll be responsible for leading, motivating, coaching and developing a team in a customer and operational facing environment. A high performing culture and a team who delivers excellent customer experiences, whilst increasing NPS and operational performance scores will be at the heart of what you'll do.
This is a fantastic role as you'll take the lead in mentoring your team and identifying future talent. Other responsibilities include:

  • Dynamic and motivated leadership, empowering a driven team to surpass all business performance targets.
  • Establish and set high expectations for your teams regarding performance and accountabilities and provide constructive developmental feedback.
  • Lead and participate in future LHR promotional or new hire recruitment and assessments.
  • Accountable for ensuring all teams are fully aligned with training and alerts in line with company policies.
  • Apply Virgin Atlantic policies for absence management to ensure our people are accountable for their attendance but supported when needed.
  • Work with our Employee Relations team to lead disciplinary investigations and appeals when necessary.
  • Ensure safety, security and service standard policies and procedures are always adhered to, ensuring a safe and secure seamless journey for our customers and colleagues alike and conduct feedback sessions with teams where necessary.
  • Wellbeing of all employees with particular focus on emerging wellbeing trends.
We're looking for someone who has proven experience of managing and leading large teams, where the key responsibility has been people and performance output. We're also looking for the following:

  • Experience of delivering on key business measures.
  • Some knowledge of people policies and employment legislation.
  • Ability to deliver constructive feedback through mentoring and coaching.
  • Strong collaborator with a proven track record of building meaningful relationships at all levels.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
