We're looking for a Duty Manager to provide operational management and direction for all aspects of the on the day airport operation, ensuring delivery of consistently great customer experience (with safe, secure and on time performance as a major element of that experience) in accordance with Virgin Atlantic Airways procedures and policies, our brand values and our service.
Some of your key responsibilities as our Duty Manager will be:
- Preparing and planning ahead for the operational day considering environmental implications to make proactive decisions in order to safeguard the customer experience and the operation
- Accountability for effective disruption management in order to mitigate as much as possible damage to the customer experience and take appropriate action
- Ensuring all VAA corporate safety and security processes and procedures are complied with at all times by all staff in order to meet/exceed regulatory standards and deliver customer experience and expectations
- To lead, motivate, engage and co-ordinate all areas of the operation on the day, both in-source and outsource, to make sure they are well briefed and prepared in order to deliver the VAA service together with the daily accountability of reaching OTP and revenue targets. To lead the tactical calls and briefings with internal and external stakeholders
- Vendor delivery of contract to agreed SLAs
- To provide accurate, timely and adequate feedback to Supervisors on individual/team performance to allow them to coach and evaluate individual performance and therefore identify future talent. Be a visible leader/be known
- To collate information from multiple internal and external sources e.g. IOCC, Airport Authority and Dispatchers in order to assess and use to make the right decisions for the operation at the right time. To build and maintain relationships at the appropriate level with counterparts at the airport authority and other key stakeholders and third party suppliers
In addition to the above, we are looking for our successful candidate to demonstrate the following:
- Leadership and influencing skills
- Comfortable operating with significant levels of detail
- Excellent conflict resolutions skills
- Emotional resilience – remains effective under pressure
- Comfortable at planning and organising at a tactical level
- High personal standards and professional – a good ambassador for VAA
- Ability to assess complex operational situations and implement solutions
- Comfortable working with complex data - assimilates data quickly and uses it to build decisions and brings it to life
- Champion for the customer balancing this with cost
- Excellent cross functional and team working skills
- Knowledge of Vs check in and res systems
- Must be able to gain & hold a HAL ID for both landside & airside activities in line with security background checks
- Flexibility on hours, especially in times of disruption as you will need to lead the team
