Hours: 37.5 Monday to Friday 
Location: Hybrid, remote working with 3 days in our VHQ Crawley 
Contract: 6 month secondment/FTC

This is an exciting and creative role that aims to drive the e-commerce agenda forwards at Virgin Atlantic.  As a Content Specialist, you are critical to achieving our vision, in this role you will make it your mission to ensure our digital experience is joined up and delivering against our revenue, marketing and business objectives powered by your knowledge of digital best practice.
Working in cross-functional teams and with world class suppliers, you will be charged with managing and producing amazing content.  

Not only will you work in collaboration with E-commerce Traders, Product Designers and Product Owners, and to help shape digital customer journeys, you’ll also innovate and create new improvements off your own back. If there’s an issue within the online customer journey, it will be your job to find it and be part of a solution.  

As part of the Digital & Martketing dept, the Content Specialist’s core responsibility will be to work within the Content team to deliver the content strategy by creating, managing, maintaining and protecting the integrity of our customer facing content across all global Digital platforms.  This will mainly focus on Virgin Atlantic’s website including English region websites, translated sites, mobile website, apps (and future digital platforms) plus Corporate microsite (Everymundo).    

The Content Specialist will be working proactively on project work with all areas of the business, UK and globally, for Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Atlantic Holidays to ensure our channels always reflect the image of Virgin Atlantic, our brand values, tone of voice, as well as being a key stakeholder in the communications planning and launching of all major Marketing, Advertising and Product/Service campaigns. 

The Content Specialist must therefore be expert in writing copy tailored for the user that also benefits SEO and is fully accessible. They must ensure content delivered is always engaging, inspirational and designed to the highest industry standards resolve any content issues, which may cause a negative user experience or hinder a booking.

To be successful in your application, we’re looking for the following:  
  • A way with words – bringing the product to life with your copywriting skills. 
  • Ability to interpret metrics into insights. 
  • Enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. 
  • Experience working across teams and forming creative working relationships. 
  • Proven experience within an e-commerce/content environment. 
  • A high level of commitment and the ability to work under pressure. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Photoshop and HTML
