Virgin Atlantic are recruiting an Industrial Designer to join the multidisciplinary Experience Design team. The team work collaboratively with stakeholders from across the business to ideate, design, develop and deliver Product & Experience’s to the highest standards. Delivering projects within the airline and across the Virgin Atlantic product estate – ground, onboard & service experiences.
As part of our award-winning Design Team, you'll play a key role in shaping the airline's Customer Experience. We’re passionate about ideating, designing, developing, and implementing best-in-class, innovative experiences across every touchpoint, from airports (check-in, lounges…) to onboard (seating, social spaces, cabin…) to service and soft products. This role will be an integral part of the onboard team, focusing on designing the cabin and products that will define the future of air travel for Virgin Atlantic.
As a champion of customer experience, creative thinking and innovation, you will translate consumer trends and insights into purposeful ideas and designs, that truly make a difference. You will inspire those around you through your creativity and storytelling, ensuring that as a business we deliver excellence in industrial design to shape lasting customer experiences.
Are you a passionate and experienced Industrial Designer? Are you passionate about defining best in class customer experiences? Would you love to work for an exciting and most loved travel brand?
We’d love for our successful candidate to have/be:
- Previous industrial design experience working in one or more relevant design fields - transport, automotive, homeware, retail or hospitality.
- Experience in effectively managing multiple projects concurrently, with direct management and collaboration with external agencies.
- Strong conceptual design thinker and problem solver; underpinned by evidence of generating new ideas that challenge traditional frontiers of thought.
- Ability to translate brand identity into meaningful and innovative design experiences through superior vision and eye for detail.
- Ability to ideate and develop commercially viable design concepts from research through to production.
- Highly adept in Design Communication, with a skilled approach to articulating concepts, and conveying design intent so that they are clear and understandable.
- Confidence in working with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of quality, cost and timeliness of delivery.
- An entrepreneurial hands-on approach
- Proficient 2D creative & 3D modelling ability (Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino / Solidworks, Blender etc).
- Knowledge of AI tools to support early-stage visualisation of ideas.
