At Virgin Atlantic Airways, we believe that everyone can take on the world, and it's our vision to become the most loved travel company. As we embark on this next exciting stage of our journey, we’re harnessing our spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation to challenge the status quo.
This role sits at the heart of a team of three analysts within Engineering & Maintenance and while you’ll share core responsibilities like building reports and identifying data gaps, what really sets this role apart is how you think.
As Senior Analyst – Engineering & Maintenance, you won’t just produce insight — you’ll connect the dots. You’ll step back, look at the bigger picture, and use data to drive meaningful, data-led change across Engineering & Maintenance. That means challenging the status quo when something doesn’t feel right, asking better questions, and helping leaders see not just what the data says, but why it matters and what to do next.
You’ll be confident in communicating your message, bringing stakeholders on the journey with you, and influencing decisions through clear storytelling and evidence. Alongside this, you’ll mentor analysts in the team, sharing your experience and helping them grow, while keeping one eye on emerging technologies, industry trends and best practice to ensure our approach stays modern, relevant and impactful.
This is a role for someone who wants to shape strategy, not just churn out reports and help deliver real wins for the business.
- Partnering with Engineering & Maintenance teams to identify inefficiencies, gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Designing and delivering data-driven solutions that simplify workflows, improve visibility and support better decision-making.
- Leading advanced analysis to uncover performance drivers, trends and cost-saving opportunities.
- Building scalable data models, dashboards and automated reporting that reduce manual effort and enable self-service.
- Confidently communicating insight through clear storytelling and visualisation, challenging decisions when they aren’t evidence-led.
- Mentoring analysts within the team, sharing best practice and helping raise analytical capability across Engineering & Maintenance.
You’re an analytically strong, commercially curious professional who enjoys looking beyond individual reports to understand how insight fits into the wider business strategy and you’re confident bringing others along with you.
In addition to the above, we’d love for you to demonstrate the following:
- You have experience within Engineering & Maintenance or supply chain, ideally in a complex operational environment.
- You bring a strong analytical background, with hands-on experience using SQL, Databricks and Power BI to deliver scalable, trusted insight.
- You’re a confident communicator who can translate complex data into clear messages and challenge constructively when something doesn’t add up.
- You have a continuous improvement mindset, always looking for smarter, more efficient ways to work and better outcomes for the business.
- You collaborate naturally with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, building trust, influencing decisions and driving data-led change.
If this sounds like you, and you would like to unlock your potential with us, we would love to hear from you!
