As Coordinator – TIS (Technical Information Services), your role is to catalogue, record, distribute, manage and control in-house and 3rd party Technical Information, to ensure all Engineering data required to develop and maintain the VAA Fleet is available at the point of use, and in line with all regulatory requirements. 

You will provide a responsive Information Request Service to Engineering to enable individuals and teams to carry out their job functions effectively, where they are unable to self-serve.
You will locate, receive, electronically catalogue and classify Technical Information from OEMs, vendors and regulatory bodies into the applicable repository, to ensure revision control of all information entering the Technical Library, for embodiment assessment by SMEs and availability for referencing during maintenance on Virgin Atlantic aircraft. 

Monitor and report on the processing of incoming Technical Information into Traxdocs to ensure that distribution and transmittal requirements are being met.

Manage the archiving of all redundant Technical Information ensuring that all regulatory and end user requirements are met.

Assist Technical Manuals Engineers with providing a general data information request service to Virgin Atlantic Engineering and 3rd parties; providing a prompt, responsive service to users of the Technical Library. 

Respond promptly, providing support to requests for information e.g. AOGs and aircraft acquisitions in order that the correct information is made available.  

Distribute controlled information to outstations and 3rd party maintenance providers to ensure that end users are referring to and working with latest controlled information that meets compliance requirements.

Administer the provision of technical data through Technical Information systems and carry out other duties in line with applicable processes and procedures, ensuring consistency of data provision and processing.

Identify and flag opportunities for continuous improvement of processes, optimising availability of data and maximizing the utilization of SharePoint tools functionality. 

Audit and update the list of recipients and users of controlled Technical Information and Maintenance Data revisions, and in coordination with ESOS as account owners, respond to user access queries, to facilitate full use of the Library Information Services
Do you have excellent IT skills, an attention to detail along with experience working in the commercial aviation industry? If this sounds like you and you have the below skills and capabilities, then we'd love to hear from you!

  • Computer literate and experience of standard MS Office & SharePoint programmes 
  • Analytical, thorough and detailed approach to working and can work on own initiative
  • Prior experience of working within (and understanding of) Commercial Aviation industry essential
  • Ideally you will have some past experience within Engineering & Maintenance, with an understanding of Part M and Part 21 documentation released by OEMs
  • GCSE or equivalent standard in Maths, English & Science
