At Virgin Atlantic Airways, we believe that everyone can take on the world, and it's our vision to become the most loved travel company. As we embark on this next exciting stage of our journey, we're harnessing our spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation to challenge the status quo.
In this exciting new role as People & Finance Test & Release Lead, you will oversee the release management and testing of Oracle Fusion ERP and HCM. While Virgin Atlantic’s Managed Service Provider will handle the delivery of release management and testing activities, your role is fundamental to ensuring that releases are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
You will define the test and release strategies, oversee the development and delivery of release plans, and act as the primary liaison between the team and other stakeholders. As a ‘go to’ person for testing and release management expertise, you will continuously work towards improving processes and support the broader People and Finance functions to drive consistent and improved standards for testing and release management.
- Strategy, Planning, and Coordination, define and communicate the release management process. Work with Oracle, the Managed Service Provider, and other stakeholders to maintain an effective process. Conduct weekly reviews of upcoming releases and promptly escalate issues or challenges.
- Release Management, coordinate with systems, testing, change management, and business teams to ensure alignment and clarity on the scope and delivery plan for each release. Monitor progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders. Identify and manage risks, conduct release readiness reviews, and manage the delivery of activities from the Managed Service Provider.
- Testing Oversight, ensure all test activities comply with established quality standards. Maintain robust processes for identifying, documenting, and tracking defects and issues. Resolve any testing or quality-related challenges, collaborating with all parties as necessary.
- Continuous Improvement, continuously work towards improving the release process, drive efficiencies through test automation tools, and provide support and training to stakeholders. Act as a ‘Go To’ person within the People and Finance functions for testing and release management advice.
Do you have extensive expertise in release management and testing? Do you have excellent communication and analytical skills? Then this could be the role for you!
Alongside the above, we're looking for the following:
- Proficiency in test/release management tools and experience with DevOps practices and tools.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional planning and organisation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
Does the above sound like you? Then we'd love to hear from you!
