At Virgin Atlantic, we believe everyone can take on the world. Since our first flight in 1984, we have been challenging the ordinary and redefining what travel feels like. Today, we continue to evolve, balancing commercial strength with brilliant customer experiences, underpinned by smart technology, operational precision and bold thinking.
Behind every flight and every seat sold sits a sophisticated commercial and technical ecosystem. RM Operations sits at the heart of our technical ecosystem, ensuring systems, solutions and processes effectively support our Commercial and Revenue Management objectives. It is complex, fast-paced and business-critical — and this role plays a key part in delivering reliable performance, continuous improvement, and operational resilience.
As a Specialist, RM Operations, you will sit at the heart of our Commercial systems landscape, enabling the reliability and accuracy of our inventory, fares and schedules across all sales channels by delivering effective technical solutions. You will be a subject matter expert across Passenger Service Systems and TPF mainframe technology, providing Level 2 system support, technical configuration and commercial insight to protect revenue and enhance operational performance.
This role blends technical depth with commercial awareness. From system configuration and schedule optimisation through to operational disruption support and group revenue evaluation, you will work cross functionally across Revenue Management, Technology, Network, Alliances and external partners to ensure our systems and processes are robust, scalable and continuously improving.
- Configure, test and maintain TPF mainframe tables and associated commercial systems in line with governance and release processes
- Provide Level 2 support, including on call for irregular Operational issues, and resolving inventory and schedule discrepancies.
- Analyse processing impacts across systems, managing associated change and communication effectively
- Responsible for the accurate distribution of operational and codeshare schedules, ensuring flights are correctly available for sale
- Optimise codeshare and schedule configuration to maintain viable connections and minimise selling mismatches
- Evaluate and negotiate group passenger requests to maximise revenue opportunities
- Support Commercial project delivery, contributing technical expertise through design, testing and go live
- Respond effectively to operational disruption, including system lockdown processes where required
- Strong commercial acumen with a methodical, meticulous and organised approach in a fast paced environment, where you can communicate and coordinate effectively with our providers, suppliers or authorities with confidence.
- Experience with GDS systems (Amadus, Sabre and/or VS Term)
- Experience interpreting complex system logic, relational table configuration and scheduling processes
- Demonstrable experience in identifying problems and offering solutions to mitigate risk
- Comfortable working autonomously while building strong, professional relationships across teams
- To clearly translate technical complexity into practical, actionable insight
- You will thrive if you enjoy working at the intersection of commercial strategy, system logic and operational delivery, where detail matters and impact is visible.
