You'll report to the Project Manager Lead, Enterprise Delivery, and your brief is clear: deliver business value, work across global teams, and flex effortlessly between Agile and Waterfall approaches. This is your chance to lead change that matters – to our people, our customers, and our business.
You’ll own the project from kick-off to close-down, managing timelines, finances, risks, and stakeholders like a pro
Key responsibilities include:
• Driving end-to-end project delivery aligned to Virgin Atlantic’s delivery methodology and strategic goals
• Understanding and leveraging the project Business Case to steer delivery decisions
• Creating and managing detailed plans using MS Project, mapping dependencies, critical paths, and milestones
• Identifying and engaging stakeholders at all levels across tech, business, and third parties – and keeping them with you at every step
• Proactively managing scope, risks, issues, and benefits realisation to ensure successful outcomes
• Running project budgets and financial forecasts with rigour – tracking, reporting, and adjusting as needed
• Leading diverse, cross-functional project teams – creating a culture of collaboration and delivery accountability
• Maintaining project documentation, RAID logs, and reporting in line with governance frameworks
• Ensuring projects are transitioned smoothly into BAU support with no surprises
You're a project manager who thrives in complex environments. You keep your cool under pressure, juggle competing priorities, and don’t flinch when the stakes are high. You’ll need:
• Strong planning and control – building and managing detailed project plans using MS Project
• Demonstrable experience with budget and cost control skills – managing large budgets with precision
• Confidence in risk and issue management – with clear mitigation planning
• Demonstrable experience in stakeholder engagement and influencing at all levels up to C Suite
• Experience leading tech-enabled business change – and seeing it through to benefit realisation
• Solid change management instincts – ensuring smooth adoption across people and processes
• A strong grasp of governance – with crisp reporting and compliance baked in
• Leadership that unites teams around clear objectives and energises delivery
• Certified in Project Management (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP – essential)
• Practical Agile experience – ideally with Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe
• Advanced Microsoft Project skills
• Demonstrable experience of budget ownership and financial reporting
• Clear communicator with the ability to influence and solve problems under pressure
