Manager – International Finance
Salary: Competitive
Hours: Full Time - 40 hours per week
Location: Seoul, South Korea
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: 16th October 2025
Virgin Atlantic is expanding its network with the launch of flights to South Korea. As part of this strategic initiative, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced International Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations for the South Korean market
- Reporting to the Senior Manager International Finance, you will have primary responsibility for supporting both the Senior Manager and International Finance across South Korea.
- The role will also support the Senior Manager for International Finance to drive increased business support including process change and the delivery of financial and non-financial targets, working closely with key partners across directorates.
- You will support Virgin Atlantic’s expansion, ensuring financial strategies align with business objectives in the region.
- As International Finance Manager, you will manage the wider financial and accounting operations in South Korea, ensuring strong corporate governance and, at the same time, delivering excellent customer service, ensuring weekly cash remittances to Head Office.
- You will operate as an important communicator between International and the UK, over-seeing all Corporate Services.
- Your responsibilities include providing strong and trusted financial guidance and reporting to the local teams whilst effectively communicating local knowledge, challenges and opportunities to the UK stakeholders.
- You will positively engage with every team across the Finance directorate as well as the wider International finance teams.
- In this role in South Korea, you have a responsibility to ensure International Finance is aware of all finance operations and developments in the local market.
- In addition, you will also be responsible and accountable for ensuring all markets are fully coordinated and consistent in reporting dashboards, risks and opportunities.
Are you an experienced Finance professional, ideally with working experience or extensive knowledge of the airline industry? If you have these skills, along with the skills and experience below, we’d love to hear from you!
- Excellent knowledge of accounting theories, principles and their application (Ideally CIMA or ACCA or alternatively QBE (5 years + experience)
- Previous experience working in the airline industry or international markets is highly advantageous
- Computer literate with good knowledge of double entry accounting systems and intermediate / advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experienced in planning and management reporting
- Experienced in managing transactional accounting functions
- Knowledge of South Korean financial regulations and tax policies.
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience of supporting contract negotiations
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with stakeholders and build long-term influential relationships at all levels
- Positive and straightforward approach to achieving results and ability to self-motivate
- Good commercial acumen and strong analytical skills, with ability to identify opportunities and support / improve decision making
- Ability to coach and influence non-finance individuals
- Ability to plan, organise and deliver multiple complex tasks and projects
- Flexible and adaptable in a rapidly changing environment
- Fluency in English and Korean (both written and spoken) is essential
