At Virgin Atlantic, we believe everyone can take on the world - and we’re on a mission to become the most loved travel company. As we embark on the next chapter of our journey, we’re dialling up our creativity, strategic focus and signature Virgin flair to bring our internal narrative to life.

We’re looking for an Internal Communications Manager who will help shape and tell the stories that inspire our people, celebrate our successes, and connect teams to our purpose and long-term plans.

In a nutshell

You’ll play a lead role in creating and delivering compelling, people-first communications that help our colleagues understand our strategy, performance, and the part they play in our future.

Partnering closely with senior leaders, you’ll develop clear, engaging narratives and build proactive, insight-led engagement plans that help embed key moments like our CEO’s leadership agenda, our People Strategy and our journey towards becoming the most loved travel company.

Working with creative teams, digital channels and specialist partners, you’ll lead the storytelling that builds belonging, advocacy and pride - all while staying true to Virgin Atlantic’s tone of voice and values.

As a Communications Manager, you will:

  • Develop and deliver directorate-level engagement plans aligned to the wider People Communications strategy.
  • Shape and manage an annual editorial and content calendar with a proactive, audience-led approach.
  • Generate stories that celebrate our people, showcase progress against our plan, and embed our culture.

Create high-impact content across multiple channels

  • Produce engaging written, visual and AV-led content for channels including Viva Engage, Viva Connections and leadership events.
  • Partner with creative, digital and production teams to bring ideas to life across formats.
  • Support senior leaders with content that strengthens strategic clarity and improves leadership cascade.

Drive insight-led communications

  • Track performance using engagement, reach and channel analytics.

  • Provide regular reporting and recommendations to leadership and the Communications team.

Support crisis and key business moments

  • Assist with timely, accurate and empathetic communications during issues or crises.
  • Support Industrial Relations communications planning and delivery when needed.

Contribute to our People Engagement Strategy

  • Play a key role in defining and delivering the long-term People Communications plan.
