Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday

Reports to: Manager – Health Safety and Environment
Safety has always been at the heart of everything we do at Virgin Atlantic. As we continue to uphold world-leading standards across our airline, holidays, and cargo operations, we’re looking for an Executive – Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) to join our passionate team.
This role offers far more than day-to-day coordination. It’s a genuine opportunity to grow your career in HSE. Several of our team members have progressed from Executive level into HSE Officer positions, and we’re keen to find someone who shares that same drive to develop and make a long-term impact.
Every day brings something new. You’ll play a key part in monitoring, improving, and championing health, safety, and environmental performance across our global network, helping to ensure that our people, partners, and customers are safe, supported, and set up to thrive.
- Support the HSE team in delivering Virgin Atlantic’s Health, Safety & Environment strategy across all operations, locations, and business units.
- Coordinate HSE self-assessment audits for global facilities, hotels, excursions, and transport partners.
- Manage reporting databases (PASS, Salus) and maintain accurate audit records and compliance documentation.
- Review incidents, near misses, and accident reports, supporting investigation and corrective action processes.
- Collate data and produce insightful dashboards and reports to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of HSE manuals, processes, and communication materials.
- Support the planning and delivery of internal and external HSE training sessions.
- Coordinate attendance, data collation, and reporting for HSE governance meetings (e.g. VAH SSAG, ABTA, HRRG).
- Assist with the organisation of audits, supplier assessments, and overseas safety reviews.
- Act as a key liaison point for internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring efficient communication and follow-up on HSE actions.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Thrives in a fast-moving environment and can adapt with resilience and agility to the ever-changing landscape of aviation.
- Brings a proactive mindset and a curiosity for how technology can drive smarter, safer, and more efficient ways of working.
- Is confident working with data, reporting, and automation, using insights to enhance decision-making and maintain safety and compliance standards.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, excellent organisation, and clear communication to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Has strong written and audit skills, supporting the compliance and reporting requirements of the role.
- Is a collaborative team player, focused on continuous improvement and attention to detail.
- Whilst desirable but not essential to have specific experience within health, safety, environmental management, aviation, travel, or logistics (advantageous but not essential).
- Is enthusiastic about Virgin Atlantic’s purpose and passionate about making a real difference to how we operate safely and sustainably.
