Enterprise Architect
Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week at VHQ, Crawley
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: 24 Month fixed term contract
Salary: Competitive

The Enterprise Architect for Modern Retailing will support the architectural vision and delivery for Virgin Atlantic’s Modern Retailing programme. This role partners with business and technology stakeholders to define, communicate, and govern the target state architecture, ensuring alignment with strategic goals for retail transformation. The architect will drive the adoption of enterprise principles, support programme delivery, and enable innovation across the airline’s retailing capabilities.
• Define and maintain pragmatic roadmaps for Modern Retailing, supporting investment decisions and programme milestones.
• Set and govern target architectures, reference models, and technology guardrails for Modern Retailing.
• Review solution designs, ensure adherence to enterprise principles, and support delivery teams.
• Identify digital opportunities, assess new technologies, and enable proofs of concept.
• Leading with trust, role modelling inclusion
• Communicate with purpose, adapting style to the audience
• Make insightful decisions which deliver results harnessing relationships
• Significant experience in enterprise, solution, or domain architecture roles, ideally within retail, airline, or digital transformation programmes.
• Proven ability to design and review complex architectures, challenge patterns and principles, and set direction for large-scale change.
• Deep understanding of modern retailing concepts, enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, DAMA-DMBOK, Domain Driven Design), and technology principles.
• Experience with data governance, integration, and risk management in a regulated environment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
