Were you born to fly?
Join one of the world’s most iconic airlines and be part of something truly legendary.
Last year, Virgin Atlantic celebrated the big 4-0 – and what a journey it’s been! Four decades of pushing boundaries, redefining flying, and having a blast while doing it. From day one, we’ve been known for our bold spirit, impeccable service, and the incredible people who bring it all to life. We’re still flying with that same passion, precision, and signature Virgin flair that keeps our customers smiling mile after mile.
We're looking for vibrant, people-loving adventurers to join our world-class cabin crew flying around the world 24/7, 365 days of the year. If you’ve got a sparkle in your eye and a heart for delivering unforgettable experiences, this could be your time to shine.
Many have taken off with us over the years – and watching their careers climb to cruising altitude has been nothing short of amazing. So, are you ready to write the next chapter in our story?
Let’s make flying fabulous – together.
Wearing the Virgin Atlantic uniform means more than just looking the part – you become an ambassador of our brand, embodying our energy, professionalism, and commitment to delivering exceptional experiences and care for our guests at 30,000 feet.
You'll be responsible for:
- First and foremost ensuring safety and security – You’ll lead with confidence in all onboard safety, security, operational and medical procedures.
- Collaborating with your crew – As part of a tight-knit team, you’ll work together to deliver with professionalism and personality. You must thrive on being part of a team.
- Delivering exceptional service – You’ll provide attentive, high-quality service that reflects our commitment to going above and beyond for every guest.
- Supporting guest wellbeing – Whether it’s assisting nervous flyers, managing special requirements, or responding to medical needs, your care and attention will help every guest feel at ease.
Our vision is to be the most loved travel company. And at the heart of that mission are our incredible people. We’re on the lookout for passionate individuals who share our love for creating unique customer experiences and are ready to be part of an award-winning team prepared for anything.
If you love caring, looking after people and are all about delivering outstanding experiences and bringing a positive, can-do attitude to every journey – we’ll take care of the rest.
To be successful in your application and training, you’ll need to have:
- The right to live and work in the UK (We're unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role.)
- No live or unspent criminal convictions or cases pending
- The ability to swim 25 metres unaided and board a raft from the water using a rope ladder without help.
- At least 18 months of customer service experience at the time of application
- A minimum of three GCSE (A*-C or 9-4) or academic equivalent
- Fluency in written and spoken English
At our assessment centre, we’ll check you're able to:
- Reach up to 210cm without shoes, standing on tiptoes if needed, with both arms extended. This is the height of our overhead lockers where we keep emergency equipment onboard
- Adopt the brace position in a crew seat which is 45cm above the floor, with your feet flat on the floor (without shoes) and comfortably secure your harness without the use of an extension seatbelt
Sounds like you? We'd love to hear from you.
Training
We take your journey with us seriously, and we’ll invest in your development so that you can thrive. As you’d expect, our training programme is meticulous and full-on, but very rewarding, and it takes dedication to complete it successfully.
Your training kicks off with our ‘First Dates’ initiation day at our vibrant headquarters. The in-person course is then 28 days long (excl. weekends) and split into three subject areas - Safety and Security including equipment and procedures, Aviation Medicine, and Service - and includes classroom sessions, practical sessions (including a swimming element), daily tests, exams, and final assessments.
Before you begin your practical training, you’ll need to complete seven online modules, each lasting around one hour. This will prepare you with a solid foundation before we really start our engines.
To graduate from your Wings ceremony, you’ll need to successfully pass your training exams. Then the sky’s the limit - it’ll be time to put all your training and hard work into practice and take off. We know you’ll have lots of questions, and we’ll take care to answer all of them as we go along. Even our most experienced crew continue to learn on the job. That’s what keeps things interesting!
